Edit58 x Smock London Elsie Lampshade Skirt Delphinium Cross Stitch with Neptune Hand Smocking
Continuing their marriage of fashion and interiors, edit58 X Smock London bring you The Autumn-Winter 24 Collection of their Ready-to-wear, hand-smocked Lampshade skirts. The latest collection features six new limited edition skirts, combining rich Autumnal fabrics with a new range of intricate hand smocked stitch motifs.
Named after the much loved grandmother of edit58's founder "Elsie" and Elsie de Wolfe, a woman who was aptly an icon of both sartorial and interior style in the 1930s, the Elsie Collection of skirt shades uses our signature hand smocking to create “waistbands” designed to hold the simple, cotton shades in place. Hand pleated and sewn by artisans in Vietnam the shades feature a nordic inspired zigzag stitch pattern composed of five-step trellis stitches interspersed with flowerettes in a medley of moody blue threads on a pleated canvas of delphinium-hued hand-loomed cotton. They are available in two sizes: Mini Skirts and Maxi Skirts.
Each fabric lampshade skirt is sold with an optional plain bespoke Munro & Kerr card base shade: think of it as the petticoat to your skirt over which the lampshade skirt sits and the waistband grips onto. The base shade comes with an interchangeable fitting so that the shade can be used as a table lamp or a pendant shade - simply flip the fitting between the two settings – so they are ‘ready-to-wear’ straightaway.
